Join us to Celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III at St Mary's

Coronation and Chat
Saturday 6th May, from 10am

Our usual Saturday 'Coffee and Chat' is being extended so that those who would like to watch the Coronation on TV with others can join together in the Church Hall. If you're a regular at Coffee and Chat or this is your first time you'd be very welcome.

Refreshments will be served from 10am until the Coronation Service finishes.

Art Competition
Entries by 5th May

Children are invited to enter a piece of art which celebrates the King’s Coronation. We'd like to see drawing, painting, sculpture or collage.

A £20 Voucher to spend on art supplies will be awarded in each of the following age categories: 4-7 years, 8-11 years, 12-15 years, 16-18 years.
Please add your name, age and contact number to the back of your entry.

All entries need to be taken to St Mary’s Church by Friday, 5th May and will be displayed as an art exhibition in the Church on the 8th May. The winner will be announced at 2pm on the day.

Celebration Service
Sunday 7th May, 6.30pm

The Coronation will be a historic moment in the life of our nation, a time to reflect on our history, celebrate who we are and look to our future.

We'll be celebrating with the nation on Sunday 7th May with an extra special service. We'd love to welcome people from Attleborough and beyond. We will be joined by Attleborough Mayor, Phil Leslie, and Deputy Lieutenant of Norfolk, Ian Lonsdale.

Come along an enjoy the special music sung by the choir and join in with some favourite hymns.

Craft Market
Bank Holiday Monday, 10am to 2pm

Now in its second year, the craft markets take place in the churchyard  on the first Saturday of the month during the summer. When we realised the planned date would clash with the Coronation we decided to move the event to Bank Holiday Monday, 8th May, and expand the attraction which will run from 10am to 2pm.

As well as all the usual craft stalls there will be refreshments served by the church and a BBQ run by Tony Perkins Butchers.

Contact us to book a place for a stall

“Crowning Glory!”
A Right Royal Organ Recital
Bank Holiday Monday, 12 noon

Admission is free to this Organ Recital by Nigel Waring, Assistant Director of Music at St Mary's. Nigel will play some favourite pieces with a royal connection.

Why not bring in some refreshments from the Churchyard and enjoy a spot of lunch while you soak up the music and atmosphere of our holy and historic building?

You'll get a good view of his fingers and toes at work on a screen at the front of the Church.
