Here's a small selection of the many things that are part of Church life in Attleborough.
The best way to find out more is simply to come along - everyone is always welcome - but you're very welcome to contact us for more details!
Choir
The well respected choir from St Mary’s sings at the Parish Eucharist every Sunday morning, and on the last Sunday of each month we also sing Choral Evensong, where more adventurous music can be explored. The choir is made up of a wide age group of singers and is led by our Director of Music, Dr Ben Miller, who has been with us since January 2016, together with our Assistant Organist, David Hilton. As well as singing in Attleborough, the choir travels to cathedrals around the country to sing Evensong: in recent years we have been to St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Southwark, Norwich, St Edmundsbury, Peterborough. Hereford and Ripon, and in March 2017 the Choir sang Evensong at Pembroke College, Cambridge. |
Christian Aid
St Mary's has been a proud supporter of Christian Aid for many years. There are lots of events during the year to support the work of Christian Aid including the 'Quiz and Chips' evening, an annual 'Sponsored Knit-In' and cream teas in abundance. Look out for more details of events coming up soon. |
Mothers' Union
The Attleborough Branch of the Mothers' Union is active in supporting the work of Mothers' Union locally and around the world. Members meet regularly, to enjoy hearing speakers and to pray and socialise together. |
Bible Study
This informal and relaxed group, meeting weekly at 7.30pm on Mondays in term time, offers a chance to get to know the Bible better. Whether you're new to reading the Bible or know it very well, you'd be welcome. An hour or so of discussion is followed by tea or coffee and time to get to know each other better. If you've never belonged to a group like this, you'll quickly feel at home. Further information from Bob or Glynis Baker. |
