Dear Friends,
It is with great pleasure that I shall be returning to the benefice at the start of December. My wife, Jo, and I are really looking forward to coming back to Saint Mary’s and All Saints where we worshipped for over twenty years before my ordination five years ago and my curacy in the Wymondham benefice.
Jo and I have been married for thirty-two years, and we have two children, Rebecca and Barnaby, who are both grown up. Rebecca works in a veterinary practice in Hampstead and Barnaby is completing his DPhil at Cambridge University. They both attended Saint Mary’s as children and sang in the choir. We worked as teachers in secondary education but have reached the happy land of retirement.
I have enjoyed a very fruitful ministry at Wymondham Abbey and at Holy Trinity in Spooner Row. The congregations are lovely and very welcoming. I have been blessed in the experience which I have gained working with a number of wonderful priests. I shall miss them all but am looking forward to supporting Matthew in Attleborough and Besthorpe.
God bless,
Reverend Andrew Slater
