With just a few weeks to go until Lent here are the details of our Lent Course. Everyone is welcome - no previous experience required!

Jesus said that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed the we would be able to move mountains. I'm sure for all of us there are times when our faith feels as small as a seed and as fragile as a seedling. If we wish it to continue to grow then our faith needs nurturing. Lent is a good time to take stock - to examine our seedlings and see what we can do to strengthen them. If a seedling is to grow it needs light, warmth, water and a good soil. If our faith is to grow it needs prayer, study and fellowship.

This year for our Lent Course we've decided to go back to basics and look at what Christians believe. It will be suitable for those who have never been to Church or who haven't been for a long time; it will be equally suitable for Church regulars to reflect on the basics of faith and perhaps ask those questions you've never been brave enough to voice because you think you ought to know the answer.

Based on the 'Pilgrim' Course, 'A course for the Christian Journey', we will have six, weekly sessions beginning on Wednesday 25th February at 7.30pm in the Church Hall behind St Mary's.  We will be asking  "What do Christians believe?" exploring the heart of Christian belief through the six questions asked at baptism. As well as study each session will involve coffee, cake and the chance for a natter.

The course has been out together by some of the country's leading theologians - Stephen Cottrell (Tom's Bishop and the author of the book we explored during Advent), Paula Gooder and Nick Baines to name just three, with reflections from, amongst other, the Archbishop of Canterbury - Justin Welby.

Church Regulars: Your help is needed! Firstly, please come along and join in. Secondly, you will find some postcard invitations in Church - please distribute these as widely as possible so that we can share God's message and the basics of our faith with as many people as possible. Lastly if you could help by baking a cake or giving someone a lift then please let me know.

New to Church? You would be very welcome to join us. No previous experience is required. Please let us know if you need transport and we will do our best to arrange a lift.
