Please consider whether you might host a simple, ‘frugal’ Lent lunch in your home, and invite up to six guests – not just your friends, but a mixture of people who you know well and people who are new to the Church Family, or whom you’ve never really had a chance to chat to. Put together some soup, bread, fruit and cheese. Have a bowl available on the side at the end of the meal so your guests can pop in a donation, and then drop that money off in the Church Office. We’ll send the money to Christian Aid.
If you can host a lunch, let either the Revd Richard Stanton or Dorothy Woolliscroft know, and tell them the date you’ve picked. (It can be whenever you like!) There will be some blank invitation cards available at the back of the church: take six, fill them in with the time, date and place and give them to your guests. We want to make sure as many people as possible are included, so please tell us who you plan to invite and, if you wish, we can also suggest people.
This is a new venture for 2018 and we’d love it to be part of a really good Lent in the parish, so please give us your support.
