Christian Aid Week begins on Sunday 13 May. It's our annual challenge to confront the poverty which robs so many people around the world of their dignity and lets injustice thrive. Together we have the opportunity to transform lives. Christian Aid Week is the invitation to stand together. Christian Aid Week has been running for over 60 years, and reminds us of the vital work of Christian Aid. For over 70 years, Christian Aid has been standing with the poorest of our neighbours, working in 37 countries, with people of all faiths and none, to stand up for dignity, equality and justice. There are three major events during Christian Aid Week when we would love to see you. Saturday 12 May 10am to 11.30am • St Mary’s Church Hall Christian Aid Week Coffee Morning Join us for a cuppa and a chat, some home baking and a flutter on the raffle. Please give us your support! Sunday 13 May 10am • St Mary’s Church Julian Bryant preaching at The Parish Eucharist We’ll be welcoming Julian Bryant, regional co-ordinator of Christian Aid in Norfolk, as our guest preacher at the Parish Eucharist. Come and hear him as we pray together for God’s blessing on Christian Aid Week and our neighbours around the world. Sunday 13 May 12 noon • St Mary’s Church Hall Christian Aid Week Lunch Following coffee after the Parish Eucharist, there’ll be a parish lunch when we hope to be joined by friends from other churches in Attleborough as well. Lunch includes two courses as well as a glass of wine: tickets cost £10 and are on sale from the Church Office or Dorothy Woolliscroft (456211). Julian Bryant will also speak briefly at lunch. All proceeds to Christian Aid. |
