Repairs have begun to the buttresses on the south side of the nave. There have been cracks for several decades but the stonework had deteriorated to the extent that the buttresses were in danger of collapse. As they hold up the nave wall the repairs are vital. They should be finished in about six weeks after which they should hold up the Church for another 500 years or so.
