The Bishop of Thetford is coming to St Mary's for a Confirmation Service on Sunday 18th October at 10am. We'll be preparing adults and young people in groups during the weeks leading up to the service. If you'd like to be prepared for Confirmation, or want to know more, please have a word with one of the Clergy (click here) as soon as possible so we can get the groups organised.
What is Confirmation? It's the Sacrament of adult commitment to God in the fellowship of the Christian Church. It's when you affirm for yourself the Faith in which you've been baptised, and the Holy Spirit is given to strengthen you for the Christian life.

As part of our Open Church Week celebration the Church has been the venue for an exhibition of quilts by the group 'Sew Spiritual' this week. Each quilt represents a parable. You can see a selection in the pictures below. Sew Spiritual is a group of Christian women from various traditions who have joined together to explore their faith through the medium of textiles and creating quilts. "We share our knowledge and skills, encouraging each other and sharing the insights and experiences of our faith journeys." Have you noticed all the decorated bikes around the town? They are part of a trail celebrating the Tour of Britain visiting Attleborough in September. At Mary's has one too. We were pleased to host BBC radio 4 for 'Any Questions?' last Friday. The host, Shaun Ley, was joined by the Bishop of Norwich, Graham James; Nikki King, David Orr and James Delingpole. Questions were asked on the Calais crisis, the 'Great and Good' in the House of Lords, Housing and Cecil the lion.
