Everyone agreed that it was a truly lovely weekend. It was good to see people enjoying themselves and to have a few old friends join us for the celebration. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard for all three events. Celebrations continue during the week as the Day Centre celebrate their 25th Anniversary.
Over the weekend we celebrated 25 years since the Church Hall was Officially Opened by Princess Alexandra. Three events were held over the course of the weekend. On Saturday afternoon we had a tea party at which we'd invited hall users to have a display of what they do. We reminisced with plenty of tea and cake as we watched video footage of the opening day and some services from the late 1990s. On Saturday evening our Hall Caretaker Trevor entertained us with his Band, 'the Konnections'. There was a BBQ and bar, including beer generously donated by the London Tavern. Then, on Sunday afternoon, we welcomed the Bishop of Lynn, Rt Revd Jonathan Meyrick, as our Preacher at a Celebratory Service followed by bubbles and cake. We reflected on the Church's role in the Community and all the good achieved by the users of the Hall as we gave thanks for the vision and dedication of those who brought the Hall into being.
